Today, I had a 3-hour meeting/lab tour of the Jason Sicklick lab at the Moores Cancer Center, University of California, San Diego. I was treated to a series of presentations outlining the work the lab is doing and I got a personal tour of the lab from Dr. Sicklick. Let’s just say that I was quite impressed.

Yesterday, Jerry met with Dr. Brian Druker, one of the pioneering researchers who helped revolutionize cancer care by proving that targeted therapies could effectively attack cancer cells while sparing healthy ones. Jerry & Dr. Druker discussed the latest insights from the LRG Patient Registry on imatinib use in GIST and explored opportunities to collaborate on improving patient outcomes.

Jerry had a delicious dinner with oncologists & researchers Dr. Limin Zhu and Dr. Michael Heinrich of Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland.

Jerry met up with the Knopps in Seattle June 5.
