Jerry’s Bio
Jerry Call has served as a Science Coordinator, Science Director, and Data Analyst for The Life Raft Group (LRG) for 20 years, retiring in 2021. Jerry continues to consult with this non-profit which supports patients with gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) with his exceptional skill in data analysis. Like many advocates, he became involved with advocacy when his wife Stephanie was diagnosed with metastatic GIST. As GIST evolved through the years to become the paradigm for treating solid tumors with targeted therapy, Jerry’s skills evolved as well. Today, Jerry’s skills include database design and management, data extraction, manipulation, and analysis, including statistical analysis using the popular open-source R programming language. Jerry is also an accomplished author with eight peer-reviewed articles in medical journals and over 50 other articles, posters and presentation written for media such as the LRG newsletter, LRG website content, LRG Science and various medical/educational conferences.
